Her birthplace was to American parents living in Rome, Italy. Her father was a former editor at The Olympian in Washington. After she graduated from Tallahassee Florida high school, she enrolled at Boston University and continued her education. Then she went into Rhodes College & University of Florida. When she was a child, her passion for performance arts resulted in her pursuing a career in both acting and dancing. After college, she quit and moved to LA to pursue a profession in acting, which led to her debut acting appearance in the short film Lucy's Piano. In the following film, she played Alice McKee, in Blood: The Last Vampire fantasy action movie blood: 17 Again (2009) she played in 2009's 17 Again. Her major TV breakthrough was in 2009, in the form of her leading role in Kings. She's also had a prominent role in various other series like Terra Nova Go On or Selfie. She has played a lead part in A Million Little Things, the family-oriented drama.
